The Women's Recon Insulated Jacket from Black Diamond is a technical hybrid designed to bridge the gap between a lightweight shell and a bulky parka. It’s specifically built for "sub-zero" resort days or cold backcountry tours where a standard shell isn't enough.

Core Specifications

• Insulation: 60g Thermolite T3 Eco-made (100% recycled). It uses zoned insulation, meaning it focuses warmth around your core while leaving areas like the underarms more breathable to prevent overheating.

• Waterproofing: Uses Black Diamond’s BD.dry™ 2-layer fabric.

  • Rating: 20,000mm (Waterproof) / 20,000g/m²/24h (Breathable).

• Fabric: 4-way stretch woven nylon, which is much quieter and more mobile than "crunchy" traditional hardshells.

• Warmth Level: It is a lightly insulated jacket. It is warmer than a shell but not as hot as a heavy down jacket. On days warmer than -5°C (23°F), you might only need a thin base layer. On true sub-zero days, you'll still want a fleece or light mid-layer.
