Description
Tecnica Zero G Tour Team is a much more specific model, designed for young skiers who practice alpine touring (ski touring).
It is a junior version of the Zero G range, adapted to the size and weight of children and adolescents, while retaining the characteristics of lightness and mobility of the adult range.
The market for children's touring boots is quite limited, and the Zero G Tour Team JR aims to offer true touring performance to young people, and not just a simple adaptation of an alpine boot.
1. Specifications and Design
| Feature | Typical Specification | Role |
| Flex Rating | 90 (approx.) | A flex suitable for advanced young skiers, offering enough support without being too stiff for their body weight. |
| Weight (per boot) | Very Light (often under $1200 \text{ g}$) | Reduced weight is essential so that children can do long, enjoyable climbs. |
| Material | Polypropylene/Polyether | Uses lightweight materials for the shell, maintaining ease of movement and light weight. |
| Ski/Walk System | Yes | Includes a release lever to easily switch between a walk mode with a large range of motion and a stiff ski mode. |
| Low Tech Inserts | Yes | Essential for compatibility with pin/tech touring bindings, the industry standard for touring. |
2. Focus on Youth Performance
Cuff Mobility: One of the main features is the high range of motion of the cuff (often around $55^\circ$), crucial for long touring strides. This allows for a natural and less tiring gait for the young skier.
Adherent Sole: The boot is equipped with a rubber sole for touring (often Vibram or similar) to ensure good grip when walking without skis (rocks, ice).
Fit and Comfort: Although it is a performance boot, it is designed to be comfortable right out of the box, often with a generous volume to avoid pressure points on growing feet.
3. Target Audience
The Tecnica Zero G Tour Team is specifically designed for:
Young skiers (around 10 to 16 years old) who have the technical level to ski the entire mountain.
Families who practice alpine touring and are looking for performance equipment (lightweight and mobile) for their children.
It is an excellent choice for introducing young people to ski touring without overloading them with heavy and stiff boots.
