Description
The Duke PT 13 is famous for its unique ability to transform, offering the performance of an alpine binding on the descent and the lightness of a pin binding (Pin Tech) on the climb.
The Duke PT (Pin Technology) is the successor to the famous Duke frame binding. It is one of the most robust and versatile hybrid bindings on the market, designed for skiers who occasionally tour but ski very aggressively on the descent.

The Transformation: Ride & Hike Toe
The major innovation of the Duke PT is its convertible toe piece:
Descent Mode (Ride Mode): The full alpine jaw is locked, offering DIN-certified retention force and release behavior.
Climb Mode (Hike Mode): The front of the alpine jaw unlocks and can be flipped forward. To save $300 \text{ g}$ per foot and improve swing weight, you can remove this part and put it in your backpack, revealing the pin inserts for climbing.
In summary: The Duke PT 13 is the ideal binding for the Freeride skier who seeks access to remote off-piste areas without compromising safety and performance on the descent. It is an excellent complement to a wide ski like the Head Oblivion 102 or the Crux 99.
