Description
The ATK Trofeo 8 is a lightweight ski touring binding (pin binding), designed by the Italian brand ATK Bindings. It is particularly popular with ski mountaineers and hikers who prioritize lightness and uphill performance.
The number "8" indicates its fixed release (DIN) value.
Features
| Binding Type | Minimalist race/touring binding (Tech Binding / Low Tech) |
|---|---|
| Weight | Approximately 145 grams per binding (very light!) |
| Release Value (DIN) | Fixed at 8 (Vertical and Lateral Release). Versions 4, 6, and 10 also exist. |
| Materials | Machined Aluminum 7075, Stainless Steel, POM |
| Adjustment Plate | No boot size adjustment integrated by default (but an optional 30 mm adjustment plate, called R01, is available on the Trofeo Plus 8 model). |
| Climbing Aids | 3 modes: Flat, +37 mm, +44 mm (obtained by rotating the heel piece 180°). |
| Technologies | Easy Entry System® to facilitate step-in at the toe piece. Monolink Technology 1.0® for lightness and rigidity of the toe piece. |
For which skier?
The Trofeo 8 is ideal for:
Experienced skiers who have a good technical level.
Those seeking maximum lightness for long ascents or ski mountaineering races.
Skiers with a weight and force that match the fixed release value of 8.
It is suitable for narrow to medium skis (waist width generally recommended between 60 mm and 95 mm).
Given its fixed release value (8), the lack of boot size adjustment (on the basic model), and its minimalist design, this binding requires very precise installation and is aimed at users who prioritize performance over adjustability.
