Description
The Supershape e-Magnum is one of the best-selling and most versatile carving skis in Head's high-performance Supershape range. It is designed to be the ideal compromise for aggressive piste skiers looking for the agility of a race ski, but with a more forgiving and adaptable shape.
1. Positioning and Key Features
The e-Magnum is marketed as the most versatile carving ski in the Supershape family.
| Feature | Specification (approx. 170 cm) | Role |
| Waist Width | 72 mm | Slightly wider than the e-Original model. Offers increased stability and better float in soft or chopped snow late in the day. |
| Turn Radius | ~13.1 meters | A short to medium radius. Maintains the liveliness of a Slalom ski, but allows for longer turn arcs without feeling overly nervous at high speeds. |
| Target Audience | Advanced to Expert Skiers | Ideal for those who ski primarily on piste and are looking for maneuverability and rebound. |
2. Integrated Technologies
Like all Supershape skis, the e-Magnum benefits from the best race-derived constructions:
EMC (Energy Management Circuit) – The "e": This technology is at the heart of the ski. Ceramic piezoelectric plates at the tip and tail transform negative vibrations (kinetic energy) into electrical energy, neutralizing them. The result is an incredibly stable, quiet, and smooth ski even on hard snow and at high speeds.
Sandwich Cap Graphene Worldcup Construction: A premium and robust construction integrating a wood core, two sheets of Titanal (metal), and Graphene (a light but extremely strong material). This ensures maximum torsional rigidity and flawless power transmission for aggressive grip.
ERA 3.0 S (Speed Rocker): Combines a small amount of rocker in the tip (to facilitate turn entry) with a powerful camber underfoot (for optimal edge contact and dynamic rebound).
3. The "Magnum" Difference
The e-Magnum is the choice of the majority of skiers who like to carve hard but do not want the stiffness or edginess of a pure race ski.
Ideal Compromise: Its 72 mm waist is narrow enough for ultra-fast edge-to-edge transition, but wide enough to provide a feeling of confidence and stability that pure Slalom skis do not offer.
Accessible Performance: It has the power and rebound of the Supershape range, but its sidecut makes it more versatile and less physically demanding over a full day of skiing.
It is the ultimate carving ski for the skier who doesn't want to compromise on grip and power, while retaining ease of use for everyday skiing.
