Description

The Madshus Panorama M62 is an excellent choice in Madshus' Nordic Backcountry ski range, positioning itself as the narrowest and most efficiency-focused model in the series.

It is the successor to the famous Eon 62 model.

Characteristics and Positioning

The M62 is designed to be the perfect compromise between long-distance efficiency and off-piste versatility.

Feature Detail
Sidecut Profile 83 - 62 - 70 mm
Waist Width (M62) 62 mm
Base / Grip System Omnitrack® (Proven and reliable scales)
Edges Full-length steel edges
Camber Higher than the M68 and M78 models
Core Multicore (Laminated wood) and Triaxial construction
Weight Lightweight (Approx. 1890 g per pair in 192 cm)

Target Audience and Performance

  1. Efficiency and Speed: Its narrower platform (62 mm at the waist) and higher camber (more "spring") make it faster and more efficient in propulsion and glide than its larger siblings, the M68 and M78. It is ideal for long crossings in hilly terrain.

  2. Versatility: It is the bridge between narrower classic cross-country skis and true off-piste downhill skis. It is perfect for those who spend long days or expeditions on ungroomed trails, frozen lakes, or in open forests.

  3. Control: The metal edges along the entire length are essential for safety and control when descending, traversing, and on hard or icy snow.

  4. Downhill Maneuverability: Although narrower than the M68 or M78, its relatively wide tip (83 mm) and the presence of steel edges allow for easy turn initiation, even if the pure downhill fun will be greater on the M68 or M78.

In summary, if you are looking for a Nordic backcountry ski that prioritizes speed, lightness, and efficiency while offering excellent off-piste safety thanks to its edges, the Panorama M62 is the ideal choice.
