Description
The 90 mm ski crampon is designed for skis with a waist width of a maximum of 90 mm.
Compatibility with Marker Alpinist
Perfectly Compatible: The 90 mm crampon is the most common size for Marker Alpinist bindings (models 8, 10, or 12).
Mechanism: The crampon slides and locks directly into a slot provided on the toe piece of the Alpinist. This is the standard system for this lightweight binding.
Compatibility with Marker Kingpin
Compatibility with the Marker Kingpin (models 10 or 13) is more complex:
Requires an Adapter (Pin Adapter): The Kingpin's unique heel piece (alpine-style) makes the crampon system more complex than on a simple tech binding.
Older Kingpin Models: On the first generations, a special adapter (Kingpin/Baron Crampon Adapter) was necessary. This was attached to the base of the toe piece to use the crampons.
New Kingpin Models: The most recent Kingpin models often feature an improved system, but they still require a specific crampon (often the Alpinist one) and sometimes some manipulation during installation.
| Binding | Marker 90 mm Crampon | Note |
| Alpinist | Yes | Direct and easy compatibility. |
| Kingpin | Yes, but... | Requires an adapter or a specific crampon depending on the model year of the Kingpin. |
Before purchasing the 90 mm crampon, make sure you know:
The exact width of your ski at the waist.
The precise year and model of your Kingpin binding to check if the adapter is required or if the system is integrated.
