The success of the Mach1 MV 120 is based on the combination of proven design and advanced customization technologies:
1. C.A.S. (Custom Adaptive Shape) Precision and Customization
This is the foundation of the Mach1 series, ensuring great adaptability:
C.A.S. Shell: Anatomically shaped from the start, it is designed with dimples (small depressions) on key areas. This allows bootfitters to modify, grind, or stretch the shell (boot-punching) with great precision and reduced tension, facilitating a custom fit for problem feet.
C.A.S. Performance Liner: Made of double-density micro-cell material, it is thermoformable at the ankle and heel. It holds the foot better than conventional liners and has a low compaction rate (it does not pack out too quickly), ensuring long-lasting hold.
2. T-Drive Power Lever
Present on recent versions, the T-Drive is a carbon or metal connector at the back of the cuff:
It creates a stiffer and more effective link between the cuff and the shell.
It guarantees a more progressive and constant flex (even in cold weather), prevents plastic deformation, and significantly improves lateral power transmission (edge grip) and rebound.
3. Comfort of Use
Flex 120: Offers an excellent balance. It is stiff enough for powerful or heavy skiers and for aggressive skiing, but it is slightly more forgiving and comfortable than the 130 flex for all-day use.
Quick Instep: A soft plastic insert on the instep greatly facilitates putting on and taking off the boot.
Lift Lock Buckles: The buckles remain open at $45^\circ$ when released, simplifying handling.
4. Warmth
Celliant® Insulation: The liner is often lined with Celliant, a material that uses body energy to convert it into infrared rays, promoting circulation and keeping feet warmer.
The Mach1 MV 120 is the ideal boot for:
Advanced to expert level skiers who charge on all slopes.
Skiers with an average width foot (100 mm).
Those seeking a boot that delivers high performance and precision similar to racing models, but with a higher level of comfort for all-day skiing.
The 120 is often preferred over the 130 by non-competitive skiers, as it offers more tolerance while remaining very responsive.
