Description
The Head Oblivion 102 is a key model in the range, marking the transition from pure park/piste performance to a wider and more powerful Freestyle All-Mountain/Freeride ski.
It is designed for advanced to expert skiers who want the playfulness of a twin-tip for freestyle and switch (skiing backward), combined with the flotation and stability of a powder ski.
| Feature | Specification |
| Program | All-Mountain / Freeride Freestyle |
| Level | Advanced to Expert |
| Construction | Carbon Sandwich Twintip Construction (Poplar Wood and Recycled PET Core, Carbon) |
| Sidecut (ref. 181 cm) | 135 / 102 / 125 mm (Tip / Waist / Tail) |
| Waist Width | 102 mm (The "102" in the name) |
| Rocker | TNT Rocker (Rocker/Camber/Rocker) for pop and float. |
Turning Radius (Radius of Curvature)
This is where the Oblivion 102 clearly distinguishes itself from the narrower models (79 and 84). Its turning radius is long, positioning it in the category of skis that like speed and large turns.
The radius is as follows:
| Ski Size | Sidecut (mm) | Turning Radius (m) |
| 173 cm | 135 / 102 / 125 | 21.0 m |
| 181 cm | 135 / 102 / 125 | 22.8 m |
| 189 cm | 135 / 102 / 125 | 25.1 m |
Interpretation of the Radius
With a radius of $22.8 \text{ m}$ (for the reference size $181 \text{ cm}$), the Head Oblivion 102 is clearly designed for:
Stability and Speed: This long radius is comparable to that of many Big Mountain Freeride skis. It rewards skiers who like to charge and make large, fast turns with confidence.
Powerful Carving: Despite its freestyle DNA, its rigid construction (thanks to carbon) and long radius allow for excellent carving at high speed on groomed slopes, for wide and precise turns.
Performance in Varied Snow: The $102 \text{ mm}$ waist width ensures excellent float in powder and makes it easy to cut through tracked snow.
In summary, the Oblivion 102 is the ideal choice for the expert looking for a unique ski capable of doing tricks and riding switch, while offering the performance and stability needed to dominate the mountain in Freeride.
