Description

The Salomon RS7 is the ideal skating ski for beginners or skiers in the initiation phase. Unlike the stiffer, more responsive RS10, the RS7 is designed to be extremely stable and forgiving, making it easy to learn the skating step.

Technical Description

  • Densolite 2000 core: A light, resistant and torsionally rigid core. It is less "explosive" than carbon, making the ski easier to control and less tiring on the legs.

  • Performance chassis: The structure is designed for optimum stability. This helps enormously with balance when sliding on one foot, the most difficult point in skating.

  • G2 sole: A sturdy, reliable sole that requires less maintenance than a racing sole, while offering very good glide for leisure use.

  • S-Cut sidecut (42/45/43/47): The ski is slightly wider than the racing models, providing better footing on the snow.

Size and Weight Chart (RS7)

The RS7 follows a slightly different weight chart from the top models to ensure that the skier can crush the camber easily.

Ski length Recommended weight (kg)
161 cm 40 - 55 kg
171 cm 50 - 65 kg
181 cm 60 - 75 kg
186 cm 70 - 85 kg
191 cm 80 - 95+ kg

Summary: RS7 vs RS10

  • RS7: For beginners, comfort, stability and a tight budget.

  • The RS10: To progress, look for speed and a more responsive ski underfoot (thanks to carbon).

Note: The RS7 is a skating ski. It has no skins and can only be used on smooth (groomed) runs, not on classic rails.
